Marts Matinee – A Great afternoon of Jazz!

MART'S MATINEE last Thursday was great at the Branksome Suite, Altrincham
Masonic, 23, Clay Lane, TIMPERLEY, WA15 7AB

The audience enjoyed the lovely selection of Traditional Jazz Tunes plus
two tunes from WW1 and a great version of "A Beautiful Friendship".

Mart Rodger Manchester Jazz will be there on the fourth Thursday every month
Stomp off is at 2.00pm till 4.30pm.

Last Thursday a gentleman came from Middleton and he was so pleased the band had taken him
back to being 16 years old. He's coming next Month on 24th July and says he will bring
some friends because it will be his birthday.

These afternoon sessions are most satisfying for JAZZ FRIENDS who don't want to be out at night.

I`m the gentleman from Middleton that you mentioned and I did bring some friends on my birthday. None of them are jazz fans but they all enjoyed the afternoon very much
I came back again for the August gig and I hope to be doing so for a long time to come.
For several years now I have only been able to listen to recorded jazz and although I enjoyed that it did not have that touch of magic that I feel when I listen to live jazz.
Long may Mart and the band continue producing their wonderful music.
